Captain Chris Overbeck and mate Andrea Kosto led a great scientific cruise to Blackstone Glacier for the sixth grade class at O'Malley Elementary School. Here, young scientists are checking out a mountain goat on the ledge of a cliff as we approach the glacier. While on board, we went through several scientific labs, including a "plankton pull" where we observed the microscopic organisms, a seawater analysis, a maritime navigation lab and a meteorology workshop. This summer, you can go on the "Glacier Adventure" cruise which features several of these experiments...plus a baked halibut lunch!
